The first Green Flag certification in West Africa

Finally the first Green Flag certification ceremony in West Africa took place. Ghana now enters a family of more than 60 countries around the world that has formally been enrolled in the Eco-Scool program, working systematically through combining education and real-life projects towards more sustainable communities. Akosombo International School has been a pilot school for the Green Flag certification system in Ghana since it was first introduced to its benefits through its long lasting exchange program with one of Norways pilot Eco-Schools, Byaasen.
It was an overwhelming celebration of this historical event that can be seen here:

A large number of distinguished people has worked hard through a number of years to come this far. They were all present, so was also student representatives from other schools in the community ready to mobilize for the sustainability challenge of the Eco-Schoos committment..
